Developing a Professional Image in Real Estate


Keep in mind that your image is projected through many different platforms. All of which defines you and your chances of success.

Your appearance should be appropriate for your area. Tidy clothing, hair should be neat and well kept, make-up should not be too heavy, and any accessories should be minimal. Don’t wear strong perfumes or colognes. Don’t wear short or revealing attire. Business dress is the best option.

When meeting with the customer you should keep good eye contact. Make sure that you are attentive to all parties and are engaging and courteous. Don’t slouch, keep a good positive body language and appearance. Gather information from everyone present.

Set up the best communication style that works for your customer. What do they prefer? Phone, email or text, etc.  If they prefer phone calls be articulate, engaging, and courteous. If email or texting make sure that your written communications are free of grammatical errors, spelling mistakes and are friendly, short and to the point.

When marketing for your customer make sure the photographs are clear and high quality. Accurate information is provided and grammatically correct. Ensure that your marketing plan will bring the best results for the customer.

Keep up to date on the marketing conditions in your market area. The customer is depending on your knowledge. If you don’t have the answer to a question, find out before answering.
